One of my CTMs, Angela, had some photos of her sweet little girl getting her first haircut. She wanted a haircut kit created from the colors in the photos….and we were off!! The girls on my CT and I put our heads together and came up with the idea for a grooming kit. Yes, it’s that time of year again….back to school!! Some love it, some hate it, and I’ve created a kit for it! Well, it’s great for anything kid related, really. Full of primary (and a couple of secondary) colors and LOTS of stuff, this kit will surely be a go to kit for kids’ stuff! It is busting out with tons of goodies, including 24 papers, 72 unique elements, and 2 full alphas (one alpha comes in 6 different colors)! This HUGE kit is definitely a bargain!! Retirement Sale, STS collab and my new kit!!

It’s the first of the month and I have lots to share, so I’ll just jump right in…

I cannot believe that I am blogging about a kit the VERY DAY that I put it in the store!! That’s CRAZY! But, I guess I’m on a roll….LOL!

So, this latest kit is a beach themed kit. I wanted something summer-y but not a pool kit. Most of the time, I create kits that I myself need to scrap some photos with. But, this kit is different in that I have ZERO beach photos! In fact, I haven’t been to the beach since I was 22 and went with a bunch of friends. And that trip was probably a little more about beer drinkin’ than creating “scrapable” memories! LOL! Although, I know I still have a few photos from it….I should dig those out…

Anyway, about a week after I finished this kit up, I found out that I’m going to the beach!! WOO HOO! Of course, I don’t have those pictures yet (since we haven’t gone yet). But, I will! And I will share those layouts when I get them done (may even be inspired to do a little add on, who knows?).

Of course, this kit can be used for much more than just the beach!! It's also great for sandbox photos, pool photos, outside photos.....well let's be honest, it's great for almost anything! It has a WHOPPING 25 papers, 73 unique elements and 1 full alpha!!

I apologize for the look of my blog! Somehow, I deleted my pictures from Google and they are no longer visable. I am not sure how to get them back, but if anyone has suggestions, I am willing to try them!!

On to better things….I am hosting a SPEED SCRAP tomorrow! Now, I was going to create a kit for the prize, but the only real designing time I had was last weekend, and I was soooo sick that just couldn’t finish it. I only have the papers, but don’t worry….I’ll get back to it later! ;)

O Brother

I have a new kit out called “O Brother”. Many of you know that I am nanny to a toddler named Thompson. Well, Thompson just became a big brother!! Of course, I had to create a kit for brothers!!

So, I hung out with Thompson at home while baby brother was being born.

Aren’t his overalls cute?? It’s kind of how I decided on the name of the kit. From this black and white picture that I took that day:

For some reason, this made me think of the FANTASTIC Coen Brothers movie, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” And so, I named this kit O Brother (kind of a shout out to Charlie Brown, too).

So I made a Mother’s Day kit that’s a little different this year. It was inspired by a photo of my niece and her kids (and her cousin) by the river. This Mother-ly kit is geared more towards the “young hip and modern” moms. Of course, it is super versatile and can be used for sooooooo much more than that!! It works well for both boys and girls! Hey hey scrapland!! So, does anyone still have snow, or has spring sprung? It’s definitely spring here….pollen pollen everywhere! WebMD just listed the top 10 worst cities for pollen this year. Chattanooga, TN (where I live) was number 5! So, anyway….I wanted to create a spring kit, but one that was more faded and hazy (kind of like everything looks covered with pollen! LOL!) And that’s how “Hazy Shade of Spring” was born!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all pulling out of winter and getting ready for spring! :) I've been busy busy busy, but not too busy to get a couple of new kits out. These kits are geared toward those surly, but loveable teens and tweens. I have made one kit for boys and one kit for girls. Then, as I was putting them together, I starting thinking "Wow, these kits would really look awesome together". Of course, you can use them together, but I also made a little "add on" mini to help pull all the wonderful colors together for you! Let's take a look at the products first!

Charity kit!

This kit is not just any ordinary kit; it is for an amazing cause and an amazing little guy that needs a family, a home, and someone to love and care for him. The Hartman family, are in the process of adopting the sweet boy below. They feel called to rescue this little boy "Brady" from a mental institution in Eastern Europe. Because he has Downs Syndrome, Brady was abandoned at birth, just like the majority of children with any sort of disabilities in Eastern Europe and other parts of the world. lt is standard procedure when these children turn between 4-6 years old (depending on region) that they are transferred from Orphanages to full blown Mental Institutions. This transfer is very traumatic, and many times these children suffer and sometimes die due to the conditions. Brady has already been transferred and The Hartmans are trying to get to him as quickly as possible. So I told this sweet family that I would ask the girls at "Stuff to Scrap" to Help!! The cost of this adoption is well between $20,000- $30,000 and so we just want to be able to contribute a little toward that huge amount. The amazing designers at "Stuff to Scrap" have put together an awesome collaboration that can be used to donate to this great cause. All proceeds from the sell of *Brady* goes directly to the Hartman's adoption fund.

Hey scrap world!! So, my resolution to blog more never quite got off the ground. LOL! I thought I was going to blog more because I thought I was set up so that my Scraps of Ellay facebook page would post every time I blogged, but apparently I don’t know what I’m doing, because it doesn’t! One day I will hopefully have enough free time to figure it all out. LOL

In the meantime…I do want to let you know that there is a freebie kit coming out in my next newsletter. It will eventually make it into my store, but right now it is a newsletter freebie. I have definitely fallen behind! I didn’t blog about my new release last week, then my computer got a virus, so I have had to restore everything and I am STILL working on getting everything set back up like I had it. It’s kind of like trying to move your car seat into your fave position after your husband has driven your car! LOL!

Hey all! I made a girls night out kit! I had soooo much fun making this kit that I almost couldn’t stop…LOL! And, as you know, I try to make several layouts to turn into QPs and templates as well. So, I wanted to scrap some “night out” pics. Then, I realized that I was going to have to go waaaaay back for those!! LOL! My scanner got a lot of use, let me tell ya. Anna Mae’s Closet

So, this friend of mine, Kate, has a super cute little girl named Anna Mae. And when I say cute, I mean CUTE! Look at her:

See what I mean? When she is around, Thompson (of “Thompson’s Room” fame) can’t take his eyes off of her!! I’m dying to get these two together for some awesome pics…..kit ideas already in play! LOL!

So anyway, I saw this photo of Anna Mae on Facebook:

Kate says she looks like Helen Roper from Three’s Company in this one…roflol! Anyway, obviously, this little one likes to play dress up. SOOOOOOOO, you know my wheels started turnin’! I told Kate I was thinking about naming a dress up kit after Anna Mae and she was like “oh yeah….use all the pics you want!” And thus, “Anna Mae’s Closet” was born! Check out Anna Mae’s layouts:

WHEW! I have been out of town and I have a GAZILLION things to tell you about! So, do I post it all now or spread it out? That is the question. Hey guys, have you seen my latest kit? It’s a little departure for me, as I’m not typically a fan of pastels. However, these colors really called to me for this kit. It’s a pregnancy/newborn kit. Some of you know that I was pregnant last year for the third time, and that’s when I got the idea for this kit. However, it was also the third pregnancy that I lost. For obvious reasons, I put this one on the backburner for a while. Recently, I got the urge to revisit this kit idea and really enjoyed my time with it. I hope you like it.
