FREEBIE KIT!! Butterflies Are Free Collab (and a speed scrap annoucement)

Okay, you guys. I can't tell you how excited I am to release this kit. Stephanie (aka Scrappy Cocoa) asked me if I'd like to do a collab (uh....who wouldn't want to do a collab with Steph??? She's only AWESOME!). So, we put this kit together based on a 1972 (the year I was born) movie called Butterflies Are Free....thus, the name of the kit. It's a movie I remember watching with my dad when I was a little girl. It stars Goldie Hawn among others. She plays a free lovin hippie type who hooks up with this blind dude who lives next door to her. Here is a movie poster for Butterflies Are Free:
I don't think anyone else in my age group or younger has ever seen this movie!! LOL!! Anyway, this kit is a free loving hippie kind of kit. Flower Power and all that jazz. We had so much fun making this kit....Steph even went so far as to rent the movie for more inspiration!! (I couldn't convince DH to watch it with me, but I have been singing the song A LOT lately...LOL!!!)  Anyway, that is where the idea began and it grew from there.  ....butterflies are free...........and so are we-ee-ee.  See?  I'm still singin' it.

So, before we get to the kit, let me show you some of the eye candy that my ROCKIN' CT has put together for y'all (and check back....there's so much eye candy that I have to divide it up over a couple days!!) Be sure to click on the images to leave some love for these ladies!!!

Susan's layout:

Not only did I get lots of awesome beauties from my CT, but a couple of my fellow designers whipped up some gems for us to ooh and aah over. Check these out:

Manda's layout:

Kathy's layout:
And, of course I am on Scrappy Cocoa's CT, so I did a layout using just her part, which is sooo groovy!!! I LOVE her butterfly quote!!!!!:
And, I also did one for the template challenge over at STS. I used my part for this one. And  the template is from NibbleSkribbles (I heart Manda's templates!!) Now, this picture is from 1972. The babies in the floor are me and my cousin Chris. The chicks standing there are two of my mom's sisters. This picture CRACKS.ME.UP. And I HAD to use it with this kit!!!!  Seriously, click on it to make the image bigger....that is some SERIOUS '70s garb!  LOL!!
How funny is that??? If you are like me and totally LOVE this template, be sure to head over to STS to do this challenge!!! You can do so by clicking HERE. Just register and start playin'!! (after you download this kit, of course)

Now, it's time for the previews....I've got the papers, elements and word art in separate previews. It's so cram packed, I hope you can see everything!! :)

And here are all the links to my part:

***download links expired***

And here is Steph's part of the kit (you're gonna LOVE it!)....click the image to be taken to her blog. There's more awesome eye candy there!!!  (keep in mind, though....Steph and I are on opposite ends of the country, so if her part isn't up yet, be sure to check back later!!):

Now, don't forget to come back tomorrow....my CT has some great quickpages for you. Trust me, you don't want to miss them!! :)

And, if you can handle it.....I have a SPEED SCRAP to announce!!!  STS will be having a Speed Scrap Wednesday, April 8.  We didn't have one all last week, so we are JONESIN'!!!  Check out the flyer for deets (and clicking on it will take you to the forum where you can register):
And here is the AWESOME participation prize from the AWESOME Deanna (aka Flower Scraps):
I hope you can make it!!!! I have to say....ALL speed scraps are pretty awesome, but STS speed scraps are THE BEST!  Not that I'm biased or anything....

Alright, folks.....this will be another busy week here at the Scraps of Ellay!  I will be catching up on P365, got some speed scraps to tell you about, some Butterflies Are Free quickpages to tell you about AND, you will get to meet my CT (FINALLY).  I KNOW you're gonna love these girls as much as I do!!!  So, y'all come back and see us!!
